Coaching in Sheffield

Coaching offers space to pause, reflect and focus on what you want next in life. Whether you’re feeling stuck, seeking direction or ready to make meaningful changes, I’ll help you clarify your goals and move forward with confidence. My approach combines warmth, curiosity and practical tools to support insight, growth and purposeful action at your pace.

How can coaching help?

People turn to coaching when they want something to change but aren’t sure how to make it happen. It’s a chance to pause, take stock and start shaping the direction you want your life or work to take.

Sometimes you just need space to think things through, step back from the noise and see your situation with fresh eyes. Coaching gives you that space to explore what you want, what’s getting in the way and what might need to change.

Coaching can help you find direction, set realistic goals and take practical steps towards them. It’s a focused, supportive process that helps you build confidence, stay accountable and move forward with greater purpose.

Working together, we’ll take things at your pace. You’ll be supported to explore what you want, identify what’s been holding you back and find steady, realistic ways to move forward. Over time, coaching can help you build confidence, strengthen direction and create lasting change that feels balanced and achievable.

What we can explore together

Everyone’s goals and challenges are different, and there’s no single reason people come to coaching. The areas below reflect some of the themes I often work with, but you don’t need a fixed plan or direction. If you’re ready to make changes or find focus, we can explore what matters most and create a way forward.

Hi there! I'm Anne Raw

I’m Anne Raw, a Coach and Counsellor based in Sheffield. People often describe me as calm, thoughtful and easy to talk to, with a grounded sense of humour that helps make change feel manageable.

My work focuses on helping people find clarity, direction and confidence in their personal and professional lives. I take an approach that inspires focus and progress, helping you see what’s working, what needs to change and how to move forward.

"Coaching is unlocking a person’s potential to maximise their own performance. It is helping them to learn rather than teaching them."

What you can expect from sessions

Starting coaching can feel new or unfamiliar, so we’ll begin with a free 20-minute chat to talk about what’s brought you here and what you’d like to achieve.

Your first session is a focused, supportive space to get clear on your goals and explore what matters most to you. We’ll look at where you are now, where you’d like to be and what might help you get there. I’ll explain how coaching works, answer any questions and help you feel comfortable before we begin.

Each session then moves at your pace. We might explore what’s getting in the way of progress, identify practical steps forward or review what’s been working well. It’s a space for reflection, clarity and action that helps you move towards the change you want to see.

You don’t need to have clear goals to start. Coaching can help you make sense of where you are, what matters most and what might need to change. It’s a supportive space to reflect, refocus and take steady steps towards the life or work you want.

If you’d like to take that first step, I offer a free 20-minute chat to talk about what’s brought you here and how I can support you.

Coaching FAQs

If you’re thinking about starting coaching, you might have questions about how it works and what to expect. The answers below cover some of the most common things people ask when they’re getting started, from how sessions are structured to what you can focus on and how we’ll work together.

Where are sessions held?
I offer in-person coaching sessions at The Brook Therapy Rooms in Sheffield, a calm and private space that helps you focus and reflect. If it’s more convenient, we can also meet online or by phone, which allows flexibility if you’re balancing work, family or travel.
How do we start?
We begin with a free 20-minute phone or video call to talk about what’s brought you to coaching and what you’d like to achieve. It’s a relaxed chat, not an assessment, and gives you a sense of how I work. If it feels right, we’ll arrange your first 50-minute session at a time that suits you.
Do I need to have clear goals?
Not at all. Coaching can start with a feeling of being stuck or uncertain. Together we’ll explore what matters most to you, identify what’s getting in the way and begin to shape realistic, meaningful goals as we go.
How many sessions will I need?
Everyone’s aims are different. Some people want a few focused sessions to work through a specific goal, while others prefer ongoing sessions to support longer-term growth and accountability. We review progress together so the number and pace of sessions feel right for you.
What can I expect from sessions?
Sessions are collaborative, supportive and focused on practical change. We might explore challenges, develop strategies and review progress towards your goals. Most people describe feeling clearer, more confident and better equipped to move forward.
