You might notice shifts in mood, confidence or relationships, or find yourself feeling anxious, low or unlike your usual self. Adjusting to new routines or identities can make daily life feel harder to navigate. Having space to talk about what’s happening can make a real difference.
Counselling offers time to explore how these changes are affecting you, make sense of your emotions and rebuild a sense of balance. Together, we can find ways to help you feel more grounded, confident and supported as you move through this stage of life.
Life transitions counselling in Sheffield offers support when you are adjusting to major life changes or navigating periods of uncertainty and change.
Even positive life changes can feel emotionally overwhelming at times. Shifts in relationships, work, identity or lifestyle can leave people feeling unsettled, uncertain or disconnected from themselves.
Whatever you may be experiencing right now, you do not have to make sense of it all alone. Taking time to understand what you are feeling can be an important first step towards feeling more supported, more grounded, and more connected to yourself again.
Many people spend a long time trying to cope quietly on their own, often minimising what they are carrying or feeling pressure to simply “get on with things”. Having space to pause, reflect and feel heard can help bring greater clarity, understanding and self-compassion during difficult periods of life.
Navigating life transitions often means adapting to unfamiliar situations and emotional changes.

I’m Anne Raw, a Counsellor and Coach based in Sheffield. People often describe me as calm, present, thoughtful and easy to talk to, with a grounded sense of humour that helps lighten even the heavier moments.
I became a counsellor after many years of supporting people through the impact of life transitions and major changes., and seeing how powerful it can be to have someone truly listen. That experience inspired me to train formally and offer others the same space for clarity, resilience and self-understanding.
I work integratively, drawing on different therapeutic approaches depending on what feels most helpful for you. We might talk about how changes such as moving house, starting or leaving university, divorce or retirement are affecting you, or focus on ways to feel steadier day to day. The aim is to help you understand yourself more clearly and regain a sense of balance.
Together, we create a calm, collaborative space built on trust and care. You’ll be encouraged to explore at your own pace, supported with understanding as you rebuild confidence, clarity and connection with yourself.
