You might notice changes in mood, energy or motivation, or find it hard to concentrate and rest. Work pressures, responsibilities and expectations can all add up, making life feel harder to manage. Having space to talk about what’s happening can make a real difference.
Counselling offers time to explore how stress is affecting you, understand your reactions and find ways to cope more effectively. Together, we can work towards helping you feel calmer, more focused and able to manage life’s demands with greater ease and confidence.
Stress counselling in Sheffield can help when ongoing pressure, workplace stress or burnout begin affecting your emotional wellbeing and daily life.
Stress does not always arrive all at once. It can gradually build over time until you feel emotionally exhausted, tense or unable to properly switch off, leaving you feeling overwhelmed both at work and at home.
Whatever you may be experiencing right now, you do not have to make sense of it all alone. Taking time to understand what you are feeling can be an important first step towards feeling more supported, more grounded, and more connected to yourself again.
Many people spend a long time trying to cope quietly on their own, often minimising what they are carrying or feeling pressure to simply “get on with things”. Having space to pause, reflect and feel heard can help bring greater clarity, understanding and self-compassion during difficult periods of life.
Living with ongoing stress or work-related pressure can affect both emotional and physical wellbeing.

Over time, many people find counselling helps them feel calmer, more grounded and better able to manage life’s pressures.
Stress and work-related pressure affect more than your workload. They can influence how you think, feel and relate to others. Counselling offers a calm, understanding space to talk about what’s happening, process your emotions and find practical ways to manage stress more effectively.
It can help you ease anxiety or low mood, rebuild confidence and find healthier balance between work and life. Together, we can focus on what helps you feel calmer, supported and more in control as you navigate the pressures you face.
I’m Anne Raw, a Counsellor and Coach based in Sheffield. People often describe me as calm, present, thoughtful and easy to talk to, with a grounded sense of humour that helps lighten even the heavier moments.
I became a counsellor after many years of supporting people through including the emotional impact of stress and work-related pressure., and seeing how powerful it can be to have someone truly listen. That experience inspired me to train formally and offer others the same space for clarity, resilience and self-understanding.
I work integratively, drawing on different therapeutic approaches depending on what feels most helpful for you. We might talk about how pressure, emotions or relationships are affecting you, or focus on finding ways to feel calmer and more in control. The aim is to help you understand yourself more clearly and rebuild a sense of balance.
Together, we create a calm, collaborative space built on trust and care. You’ll be encouraged to explore at your own pace, supported with understanding as you restore confidence, clarity and connection with yourself.
