Counsellor & Coach

Hi there! I'm Anne Raw

I’m Anne Raw, a Counsellor and Coach based in Sheffield. People often describe me as calm, present, thoughtful and easy to talk to, with a grounded sense of humour that helps lighten even the heavier moments.

I became a counsellor after many years of supporting people through whether that’s redefining your goals, reconnecting with what matters most, or finding direction when life feels uncertain, and seeing how powerful it can be to have someone truly listen. That experience inspired me to train formally and offer others the same space for clarity, resilience and self-understanding.

Thank you!

Kind Words

How we’ll work together

My approach to personal development and life coaching is clear, structured and supportive, helping you focus on what’s working, what isn’t and what needs to change.

We’ll start by looking at where you are now, what you’ve already tried and what you want to achieve. Sessions are guided by practical questions such as what’s getting in the way, what needs to happen next and what will make the biggest difference. You’ll leave each session with a clearer sense of direction and one or two realistic actions to work on.

Together, we’ll review progress, explore challenges and adjust your goals as things develop. The aim is steady, practical change that builds clarity, confidence and consistency over time.

Personal development and life coaching is a focused, practical process that helps you reflect on what’s working, focus on what matters and take steady steps towards lasting change. It offers time to think clearly, build confidence and make progress at a pace that feels right for you.

If you’d like to take that first step, I offer a free 20-minute chat to talk about what’s been happening and how I can support you.

Life Coaching FAQs

If you’re thinking about starting counselling, you may have a few questions about how it all works. The answers below cover some of the most common things people ask when they’re considering getting started, from what to expect to how sessions are arranged and where they take place.
How do I know if personal development and life coaching is right for me?
Coaching can be helpful if you want to make a change but feel unsure how to begin. You might be at a crossroads, want to feel more confident, or simply need time to think things through. It’s a practical, forward-looking process that helps you find clarity and take steady steps towards what matters most to you.

What kinds of goals can I work on in coaching?
You can work on almost any goal that involves personal or professional growth. This might include improving confidence, finding direction, developing healthier habits or managing change. Coaching helps you turn ideas into action, focusing on what’s realistic and meaningful for you.

Do I need to have clear goals before starting coaching?
No. Many people come to coaching because they feel stuck or unsure about what they want next. Part of the process is clarifying what matters most to you. We’ll explore your ideas and priorities together until clear, achievable goals start to take shape.

How many coaching sessions will I need?
That depends on your goals and what you want to achieve. Some people benefit from a few focused sessions to work through a specific challenge. Others prefer longer-term coaching to build habits and maintain progress. We’ll review regularly to make sure the pace and number of sessions feel right for you.

Can coaching help if I’m feeling stuck or lacking motivation?
Yes. Coaching can be especially useful when motivation feels low or things seem unclear. Through guided reflection and practical questions, we’ll identify what’s holding you back and what will help you move forward. The process helps you regain focus, energy and confidence in your next steps.
