You might notice changes in mood, confidence or motivation, or find yourself questioning decisions, relationships or purpose. Everyday life can start to feel flat or directionless. Having space to talk about what’s happening can make a real difference.
Counselling offers time to explore what’s keeping you stuck, understand your emotions and reconnect with what matters most. Together, we can find ways to help you feel more grounded, focused and ready to move forward with greater clarity and confidence.
Counselling for feeling stuck can help when you feel uncertain about where life is heading or disconnected from the direction you want to move in.
There are times in life when people lose a sense of clarity, confidence or purpose. Feeling stuck can slowly affect motivation, relationships and emotional wellbeing, leaving people feeling lost, frustrated or unsure how to move forward.
Whatever you may be experiencing right now, you do not have to make sense of it all alone. Taking time to understand what you are feeling can be an important first step towards feeling more supported, more grounded, and more connected to yourself again.
Many people spend a long time trying to cope quietly on their own, often minimising what they are carrying or feeling pressure to simply “get on with things”. Having space to pause, reflect and feel heard can help bring greater clarity, understanding and self-compassion during difficult periods of life.
Feeling stuck in life can affect how you see yourself and your future. It can sometimes leave people feeling disconnected from who they are or unsure what they truly want.

Feeling stuck is something many people experience at different stages of life. Having space to talk things through can help you understand what may be underneath these feelings and begin reconnecting with a greater sense of direction and meaning.
Counselling for feeling stuck offers a warm, supportive space where you can talk openly about what has been happening and begin exploring what may help you move forward.
Sometimes people feel stuck because of work, relationships, life changes or a deeper sense that something no longer feels right.
In counselling, we might gently explore:
Together, we can gently make sense of what you are experiencing and help you move forward with greater clarity and confidence.
Feeling stuck or lost can affect how you think, feel and connect with others. Counselling offers a calm, understanding space to explore what’s holding you back, process your emotions and find practical ways to move forward with greater clarity and purpose.
Counselling and coaching can work together to help you regain direction, rebuild confidence and make meaningful changes. While counselling supports emotional understanding and self-awareness, coaching focuses on setting goals and taking action. Together, we can explore what helps you feel more balanced, motivated and in control as you rediscover your sense of direction.
I’m Anne Raw, a Counsellor and Coach based in Sheffield. People often describe me as calm, present, thoughtful and easy to talk to, with a grounded sense of humour that helps lighten even the heavier moments.
I became a counsellor after many years of supporting people through the challenges of feeling stuck or losing direction., and seeing how powerful it can be to have someone truly listen. That experience inspired me to train formally and offer others the same space for clarity, resilience and self-understanding.
I work integratively, drawing on counselling and coaching approaches depending on what feels most helpful for you. We might explore what’s keeping you stuck, how your thoughts or emotions are affecting you, or focus on small, practical steps to build momentum. The aim is to help you understand yourself more clearly and regain a sense of purpose and balance.
Together, we create a calm, collaborative space built on trust and care. You’ll be encouraged to explore at your own pace, supported with understanding as you rebuild confidence, clarity and direction in your life.
