Guest post for the Sheffield Wellness Centre

I Have Written a Guest Post for the Sheffield Wellness Centre

I am pleased to share that I have recently written a guest post for the Sheffield Wellness Centre.

You can read it here: Grief Counselling After Parent Loss and the Emotions of Losing Your Mum or Dad

Why I chose to write about grief after losing a parent

Losing a mum or dad can be one of the most painful and life changing experiences. Many people feel shocked by how complex grief can be, even if the loss was expected. I wanted to offer supportive, clear information for anyone who is facing this type of bereavement.

Writing as a guest author allows me to reach more people in the Sheffield area who may be trying to cope with intense feelings, while also looking after others and managing everyday responsibilities.

What you will find in the guest post

The article explores:

  • The emotional and practical realities of losing a parent
  • Why grief can feel different for everyone
  • How to take care of yourself when things feel overwhelming
  • Small helpful steps for coping day to day
  • When grief counselling after parent loss may feel supportive

My hope is that readers feel understood and less alone while navigating the changes that follow the loss of a parent.

Who the post may help

You might find this article useful if:

  • You have recently lost your mum or dad
  • You are still grieving a parent who died some time ago
  • You want to support someone who has lost a parent
  • You are unsure whether counselling might help

Many people feel they should “be coping by now”. I want to reassure you that grief is not a timetable. Support can help at any stage.

Thank you for reading

I plan to write more articles on grief, bereavement, miscarriage, menopause and other significant life changes. If you would like support, you are welcome to contact me or book in for a free discovery call.

Warm regards,
Anne Raw
